Turns out the dating app that's "designed to be deleted" really does work! We matched on June 22, 2025, and the rest is history.

Our first date wasn't exactly a conventional one. We were both slated to go out of town for two weeks, but we knew we wanted to meet before we left. So naturally, Maddy invited herself to Everett's band's show (shoutout to Always Her). She even met the parents on the first date!

The second date took place at Temple Square three weeks later. And if you can believe it, a sister missionary invited us to go to the temple and make eternal covenants with one another. Guess we really took that advice to heart.

Everett asked Maddy to be his girlfriend on August 16, 2025, and we've been inseparable ever since.

After road tripping to Ohio to meet Maddy's family, Everett hatched a plan to hijack his own surprise birthday party to propose. He recruited his two closest friends to steer Maddy's party planning in the direction he needed to pop the question. On December 29, 2025—exactly one day after Everett's twenty-sixth birthday—Maddy made the easiest decision of her life and said, "Yes!" (Best birthday present ever btw.)

After approximately eighty trips between Provo and Salt Lake, seventeen band gigs, four jobs, three vacations, two apartments, one watch-through of Glee, and a countless number of kisses, we're ready to tie the knot!​

We're so deeply in love, and we can't wait to celebrate that love with all of our closest friends and family!
